UPSC will start issuing provisional answer keys from the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026, the Center informed Rajya Sabha on Monday. You will also pass all the structured exams conducted by UPSC.

Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said this in a written reply to Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma’s question.
Sharma asked about the steps taken to ensure real-time disclosure of preliminary examination marks and answer keys, as well as the measures taken to create a single grievance portal for candidates to challenge factual errors in recruitment examinations.
In his reply, Singh said, “In compliance with the Supreme Court judgment in WP (C) No. 118/2024, UPSC has formulated guidelines for releasing the provisional answer key on its official website after the conduct of preliminary examination. This will be implemented from Civil Services (Prelims) Examination 2026 onwards, for all organized examinations conducted by UPSC. Preliminary examination marks will be released only after the final result of the examination is declared.”
In the 2025 civil service examination, the government received 937,876 applicants, of whom 576,793 took the exam. UPSC conducts at least 16 examinations throughout the year.
The Minister also included the steps related to the electronic portal for discrepancies in question papers and temporary answer keys. “For difficult factual errors, UPSC has a dedicated portal called Question Paper Representation Portal (QPRep) accessible on its website https://upsconline.nic.in. Candidates can submit representations regarding discrepancies in question paper and provisional answer keys (from Civil Services (Prelims) Examination 2026 onwards) through the portal. UPSC also deals with grievances filed by candidates on Central Public Grievance Redressal and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) and emails,” it said.
