A bizarre incident at the Bhopal University canteen sparked outrage after students claimed they found a lizard in their food, but a staff member ate it, ignoring the claim and calling it Capsicum.

The incident, which was reported from the Rajiv Gandhi Prodigy Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) canteen, dates back to March 18. Students who were eating there said they noticed something unusual in the vegetable dish, which they thought was a dead lizard. Then they informed the cafeteria staff about it.

What followed only intensified the confusion and anger. According to the students, a staff member picked up the suspected item, ate it in front of them, and insisted it was nothing more than pepper, according to a report by the students. India Today.
The moment, which was captured on video, went viral on social media, sparking sharp reactions. but, HT was unable to independently verify the claim in the viral video.
As the clip spread, the university administration intervened. The authorities have now formed a committee to look into the matter and verify what exactly happened. RGPV Director Sudhir Bhadauria stressed that the health of students remains a priority and said strict action will be taken if any negligence is proven.
Meanwhile, the canteen operator completely rejected the allegations, confirming that the item in question was indeed capsicum.
In a separate incident, a dead lizard was found inside a ‘Chocobar’ ice cream in Jayaspura, following which local health officials on Monday issued a penalty on the manufacturer for failing to maintain hygiene standards at the production facility, HT reported earlier.
A seven-year-old boy found a dead crocodile in the ice cream he bought from a roadside vendor. Since the child had consumed partially contaminated ice cream, immediate medical assistance had to be given to him. However, he was reported to be fine on arrival at a nearby clinic.
