Ted Cruz says he urged Donald Trump to launch a strike on Iran a day before the war

Senator Ted Cruz admitted that he urged Donald Trump to go ahead with military action against Iran just one day before the conflict began.Cruz said he told the president that the Iranian regime was at its weakest point and that its collapse would greatly enhance American security.

He also indicated that it prompted Trump to move away from diplomatic options in favor of decisive action.

“Look, I urged the president to launch this attack. And as you noticed, I was with him almost all day on Friday before the attack started on Saturday. And so we were on Air Force One. We were flying to Texas to Corpus Christi for a big event, planning Corpus Christi. So I was on the plane with him, and then he asked me to jump in the beast — the presidential limousine — and it was just the two of us, one on one,” Cruz said during “Trigger Gauge.” Podcast.

“Almost all the time he was asking me what I thought we should do about Iran,” he said, and said that no one should negotiate with Iran. “I don’t think they’re negotiating in good faith,” Cruz recalled. “They’re liars.
