US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the United States is aware of the presence of Iranian sleeper cells inside the country, while American and Israeli forces continued their military operation against Iran.
The operation, now in its second week, led to the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and has since led to retaliatory measures by Iran against US assets and its allies. When asked by a Fox News correspondent if he had been briefed on how many Iranian sleeper cells could be inside the United States, Trump responded: “I have, and a lot of people have come in through Biden with his stupid open border, but we know where most of them are. I think we have our eyes on all of them.”

“A lot of people came through Biden with his stupid open borders, but we know where most of them are. We’ve got our eyes on them all,” Trump said, also blaming former President Joe Biden’s alleged open border policies for letting potential threats in. “A lot of people came through Biden with his stupid open borders, but we know where most of them are. We’ve got our eyes on them all,” Trump said, calling Biden “one of the worst presidents in the history of our country.”Trump added that the military campaign against Iran is being carried out “at a level that no one has ever seen before,” describing it as “absolutely amazing to watch.”
Earlier, reports from ABC News stated that US authorities intercepted encrypted communications believed to be coming from Iran, and directed to secret recipients. A federal alert said the contents could not yet be determined, but asked law enforcement to increase monitoring of suspicious radio frequency activity.“Although the exact contents of these transmissions cannot currently be determined, the sudden appearance of a new station with international rebroadcast characteristics warrants increased situational awareness,” the advisory said. These warnings came in the wake of incidents that occurred in the United States since Khamenei’s death. A Senegalese man opened fire on a bar in Austin, Texas, killing three people, while two men were charged with trying to support ISIS during protests outside New York City’s Gracie Mansion, the official residence of New York City Mayor Zahran Mamdani.Customs and Border Protection had previously warned of the danger of sleeper cells after more than 700 Iranian nationals remained in the United States despite crossing the border illegally in the past four years.FBI Director Kash Patel also said counterterrorism teams are on high alert and working 24/7 to prevent threats on US soil.“Last night, I instructed our counter-terrorism and intelligence teams to be on high alert and mobilize all necessary auxiliary security assets,” Patel wrote on X, shortly after the US operation began.
