According to an IANS report, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial has been repeatedly postponed due to reshoots of crucial scenes from the film.
This has increased its budget as well.
The report stated that since SLB wants to keep everything perfect in every frame of his film, he is shooting some important scenes again.It is also believed that all the edits delayed the film’s release indefinitely.

Earlier, during an Instagram Live, Ranbir Kapoor shared that movie buffs might have to wait a little longer to watch the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial.
The actor stated that the film, which was initially expected to hit theaters by August 2026, is now likely to be released either later this year or even in 2027.Explaining the reason for the delay, Ranbir shared that big projects like ‘Ramayana’ and ‘Love & War’ take a little longer to complete due to their ambitious scale and vision. He expressed that waiting would be worthwhile. Well, it remains to be seen when the makers set the final release date for ‘Love & War’.
The film is said to be inspired by the 1964 film ‘Sangam’, starring Ranbir’s grandfather, Raj Kapoor, Vyjayanthimala, and Rajendra Kumar.

Apart from ‘Love and War’, Ranbir Kapoor has Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ slated to release on Diwali this year. He will also be seen in ‘Animal Park’, a sequel to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’. Alia Bhatt is scheduled to participate in the film “Alpha”, which co-stars Sharfar and Bobby Deol. Vicky Kaushal was last seen in the film Chhaava, which released in 2025.
