Katie Leung, best known for her portrayal of Cho Chang in the popular “Harry Potter” films, shares her excitement at taking on a new role in “Bridgerton.” Reflecting on her previous career, she admitted that she was easily influenced by other people’s ideas.
Katie Leung, who played Chu Chang in five Harry Potter films, does not want to return to Hogwarts! The 38-year-old “Bridgerton” actress recently explained why she doesn’t want to return to that chapter of her life.
Leung also indicated that she would rather work on “Bridgerton” than film “Harry Potter.” For the unversed, Katie Leung played the formidable antagonist, Lady Araminta Gonne in the final season of “Bridgerton.”

“I was very young at the time, and I was easily influenced by what people would say about me because I didn’t know who I was,” she told Entertainment Tonight about her time on the fantasy series. “So I came to Bridgerton with a healthy focus on work.”Leung has indicated that she would rather work on Bridgerton than film Harry Potter. “I’m so happy to be here. I don’t want to go back to that time,” she said. “Not that I had a bad time or anything like that, but it’s really nice to know who you are, and I still get that, but I’m a little closer.”

Leung made her screen debut as Cho in 2005’s Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. She reprized the role in 2007’s Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, where she gave Daniel Radcliffe’s first kiss, and returned again in 2009’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, 2010’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, and 2011’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
Katie Leung’s advice for the new Cho Chang
The actress, who started playing Lady Araminta Gun in Season 4 of Bridgerton, also shared the advice she would give to whoever plays Cho in the upcoming “Harry Potter” TV series. “For anyone, (whatever) their stage of life, (my advice) is to be themselves, because that’s what makes them unique,” Leung said. “And not to let other people’s noise affect you, because what you already have is a gift, and you should really try to hold on to that.
