Twitter bans more than 5,000 accounts in India, and here's why

Elon Musk’s X platform has banned more than 5,000 Indian accounts for policy violations, including promoting terrorism and child sexual exploitation. Users should avoid violating policies to prevent account suspension.

In India. Reuters reported that these accounts were blocked for violating several policies set by social media platforms, and these accounts were blocked between January 26 and February 25.
Total X accounts banned in February
According to the report, the social media platform has banned 5,06,173 accounts for promoting child sexual exploitation and non-consensual nudity. In addition, the platform suspended 1,982 accounts on charges of promoting terrorism.
Combining the two, X blocked a total of 5,08,155 accounts during the said period in India. The platform also received about 14,421 complaints from Indian users through its grievance redressal mechanisms. Moreover, about 41 requests regarding account suspension have been filed.

“We have canceled one of these suspended accounts after reviewing the details of the situation,” the company said in its statement. “The remaining accounts reported remain suspended,” the company said.
“We received 71 requests related to general questions about the accounts during the reporting period,” she added.
This is not a new practice for X to ban accounts for policy violations. Between December 26 and January 25, the platform banned around 2,31,215 accounts in India. In the same period, the company banned 1,945 accounts on charges of promoting terrorism on its platform.
Tips to prevent X account from getting banned
To prevent X from removing your account, avoid violating the policies set by the platform. Preventing publications that include sexual exploitation of children and non-consensual nudity.
