According to Vicky Lalwani, ‘Lahore 1947’ was renamed ‘Batwara 1947’. Produced by Aamir Khan, the film is set during the Partition of India in 1947 and stars Aamir alongside Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, and Abhimanyu Singh.
It is based on Asghar Wahat’s play Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai.

This collaboration marks a momentous reunion for the duo, who had previously captured the essence of the Partition era in the 1998 cult classic ‘1947 Earth’.
