Haryana Police, in a statement to X, said it has taken “strict action” in the case of the rejected song “Tateeree”.

“An FIR has been registered against singer Aditya Pratik Singh Sisodia alias Badshah. The process has been initiated to issue a lookout circular (LOC) against the accused and a notice to appear before the police has been issued,” it said.

She added, “Police teams are constantly raiding to make arrests. Panchkula Police has removed the controversial song from YouTube, and measures are underway to remove the video from other social media platforms. Strict legal action will also be taken against those who share objectionable content.”

Why is Badshah’s ‘Tateeree’ facing controversy?

An FIR was registered against the singer at the cybercrime police station in Sector 20, Panchkula, following complaints from residents who raised concerns about the song’s impact on societal norms, news agency PTI reported.

According to the FIR filed by the Haryana Police, the complainant stated that a song and video titled Tateeree had recently been released on Badshah’s official YouTube channel and had gone viral.

The FIR also stated that the video shows girls wearing school uniforms in a school-like environment referred to as ‘badshala’, which is described as a corruption of the word ‘pathshala’.

She also pointed out the alleged use of inappropriate and obscene lyrics in the song.

Haryana State Commission for Women issues summons to Badshah

The Haryana State Commission for Women took note of the song and issued summons to the popular rapper, the report added.

“We have summoned Badshah on March 13. He has to explain why such words and scenes were used in the song,” committee chairman Renu Bhatia said on Friday.
