Lucy Dickens, head of contemporary music at WME, will leave the agency, according to a memo from WME group co-chairman Christian Muirhead, obtained by WME. Hollywood Reporter.

Kirk Sommer, whose clients include big hitters such as The Killers, Benson Boone, Hozier and Nine Inch Nails, will continue to lead the contemporary music division moving forward, Muirhead confirmed.

“We wanted to share with everyone that our friend and colleague Lucy Dickens is leaving WME,” Muirhead wrote.

One of the most respected agents in the industry, Dickens first joined WME in 2019 and was promoted to co-head of music in 2020 amid the pandemic. She is Adele’s long-time agent, and her brother Jonathan Deakins is Adele’s manager. After leaving the UK, she moved to Los Angeles after her promotion.

It is not clear which clients would choose Dickens. WME has not provided any additional information about Deakins’ departure, although several sources indicate she may move to CAA. Representatives for WME and CAA did not respond or declined to comment on this matter.

“Over the past seven years, Lucy has helped us through one of the most turbulent periods in the live music business,” Muirhead said at Momo. “As head of our UK bureau, she revitalized our presence in London, built a strong team, and strengthened WME’s leadership in the region. Then COVID hit and she jumped right in, assuming her expanded role, relocating to Los Angeles, and providing critical support to our team during an unprecedented crisis. Post-pandemic, she led major signings, built innovative touring models, and brought exceptional heart and enthusiasm to our business.”

“Please join us in wishing Lucy the best in her next chapter,” Muirhead concluded in the note on Friday.
