The UAE has announced an early start to spring break for schools and universities, with students and staff scheduled to leave from March 9 until March 22. The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research confirmed that the spring break will begin on Monday, March 9, 2026, and continue until Sunday, March 22, 2026.
The break will be applied to all public and private schools and universities across the country. Authorities said the dates will cover students, faculty and administrative staff, ensuring academic and non-academic staff are monitored during the holiday period.
This announcement comes after the approval of the Education, Human and Community Development Council. After obtaining the Council’s approval, the two ministries confirmed the revised spring break schedule for educational institutions nationwide.
According to the announcement, official school and working hours will resume on Monday, March 23, 2026, when students return to their classrooms and the teaching and administrative staff resume their duties in schools and universities in the UAE.
