Ahead of the T20 semi-final match between India and England on Thursday, the Mumbai Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory, warning people to beware of traffic congestion near the Marine Drive area.

To X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday asked people to plan their travel in advance and use alternative routes to avoid delays.

The match will be held at Wankhede Stadium in the city at seven in the evening. The gates are scheduled to open to the public at four in the afternoon. With a large number of spectators expected, Mumbai Traffic Police said, “Traffic congestion is expected in and around the Marine Drive area.”
What methods have been suggested?
Officials urged spectators to use public transportation. The routes they suggested for cricket fans to take are – Western Railway – Churchgate Railway Station and Marine Lines Railway Station, Mumbai Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line) – Churchgate Station.
The traffic police also issued a travel warning at the gate. Gates 1 and 7 can use Churchgate Railway Station / Churchgate Metro Station via E Road. Gates 3 and 4 can use Marine Lines FOB Railway Station near Roopkala Showroom, Maharshi Karve Road. Gates 5 and 6 can use Churchgate Railway Station / Churchgate Metro Station FOB on Maharshi Karvi Road opposite Income Tax Office.
“Your cooperation is essential for smooth traffic,” the Mumbai Traffic Police concluded its note.
It’s all about India and England facing off
India, barring a 76-run loss to South Africa in their first Super 8s match, have had a good run, winning six of their seven T20 WC matches so far.
India, bidding to become the first team to successfully defend a T20 World Cup title, will meet two-time world champions England in the quarter-finals of the tournament for the third successive tournament, with each team winning one of the previous matches.
The winner on Thursday will advance to the final on Sunday against either South Africa or New Zealand, who will meet in the other semi-final on Wednesday.
Members of the Indian cricket team visited and took darshan at the Shri Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple in Mumbai on Wednesday. Axar Patel, Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma were among the Indian men’s national team players who visited Siddhivinayak Temple.
