Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan is close to the top of the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings, narrowing the race with India’s Abhishek Sharma after the latest weekly update released on Wednesday.

T20I Batting Rankings
Farhan has risen to second place after a historic outing in the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup.
The right-hander became the first cricketer to score a double century in a single edition of the tournament, scoring his first hundred against Sri Lanka in Pallekele during the final Super 8s match for both sides.
The hit not only moved him up one place in the world rankings, but also earned him a new career best ranking.
India reach the final session before the T20 World Cup final
Abhishek Sharma continues to occupy the top spot, maintaining a 26-point lead over Farhan. The Pakistani batsman now occupies 848 ranking points after overtaking England’s Phil Salt, having accumulated 383 points during the World Cup to significantly narrow the gap at the top.
The end of the Super 8s stage sparked several further moves in the batting charts. Indian Ishan Kishan advanced to fourth place with 783 rating points, while Tilak Varma advanced to sixth place with 749 points, as both broke into the top ten. South African Dewald Previs also gained a position to settle in eighth place. Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett enjoyed one of the biggest jumps, jumping six places to 11th place after amassing 292 points in the competition.
South African duo Ryan Rickleton and Aiden Markram also moved up, rising to 13th and 16th places respectively.

T20I Bowling Rankings
In the T20I bowling rankings, India’s Varun Chakravarthy remains at the top, despite having his lead reduced to just 18 points as the tournament heads into the knockout rounds. Chakravarthy has taken 12 wickets so far, but Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed is close behind after moving up two places to third in the overall standings. Among other bowlers, India’s Jasprit Bumrah has moved up to seventh position, while Arshdeep Singh has jumped six places to 13th position.
Englishman Liam Dawson moved up nine places to share 14th place, and South African midfielder Lungi Ngidi moved up six places to 20th place. The Zimbabwe captain still leads the overall rankings

He is now his closest challenger after moving up one place to second place, replacing Pakistan’s Saim Ayub. West Indies veteran Jason Holder was another major gainer, jumping eight places to 11th after a strong World Cup display with both bat and ball.
