Brian Littrell files $50,000 trespass suit against Florida woman after sheriff case fails - reports

A Florida judge has dismissed Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell’s lawsuit against the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, citing insufficient evidence and stating that the office serves the public, not individuals. However, Littrell is actively pursuing a separate trespass lawsuit against a local woman, Carolyn Barrington Hill, for alleged repeated break-ins and harassment on his beachfront property.

A Florida judge has dismissed Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell’s lawsuit against the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, ending that part of the legal dispute over beach access. The court ruled that the case lacked sufficient evidence.

The decision closes the complaint against the Sheriff’s Office, although Littrell continues to file a separate lawsuit against a local resident over alleged trespassing on his beachfront property.

Brian Littrell’s lawsuit against the Walton County Sheriff’s Office has been dismissed

According to MyPanhandle, Circuit Judge Jeffrey E. Lewis dismissed the lawsuit Friday afternoon. Because of this ruling, the claim cannot be submitted again. The judge also canceled the hearing scheduled for April 2.

Littrell and his attorneys filed the case against the Walton County Sheriff’s Office in June 2025. The singer and his wife, Leighann Littrell, argued that deputies were not enforcing trespassing laws on their beachfront property in Walton County, Florida. The couple claimed that the authorities treated the land as if it were public. They said deputies failed to protect their property rights when beachgoers entered the area.

Judge Lewis rejected this claim. The court determined that Littrell did not provide sufficient evidence to support the allegations. The judge also stated that the Sheriff’s Office’s duty is to the public, not to the individual homeowner. Although this case is over, another legal dispute related to ownership remains.

Brian Littrell files a trespassing suit against a woman in Florida

As Page Six reported, Littrell filed an amended complaint against a Florida woman he accuses of repeatedly trespassing on beachfront property.

The singer, known for the song “I Want It That Way,” debuted the new file with his wife earlier this week. The complaint names Carolyn Barrington Hill as a defendant and also lists Littrell’s company, BLB Beach Hut, as a plaintiff. The couple is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 for “interest, costs and attorneys’ fees.”

The amended lawsuit claims Hill ignored posted warnings and entered the property “on multiple occasions between April 26, 2025 and the time of filing” without permission.

The couple also alleges that Hill verbally harassed the property manager by “screaming and cursing,” placing beach furniture on the property, and “videotaping” them without their “knowledge or consent.”In one incident described in the file, the couple says a Walton County Sheriff’s Department officer “forced” Hill to leave the property. Their attorney, Peter Ticktin, defended the case in a statement to Page Six.

“There is no doubt that the Littrell family owns the beach behind their house down to the average high water line. This beach is no less than their backyard.”Ticktin also alleged that Hill has “some sort of misguided agenda” and “insists on trespassing on Littrell’s property and encouraging others to join in.”He added: “We were recently asked to review the complaint to comply with certain legal requirements, and we are now ready to move forward.”Brian Littrell is an American singer and songwriter, best known as a member of the pop band Backstreet Boys. Born on February 20, 1975 in Lexington, Kentucky, he joined the band in 1993. Littrell also released the Christian album “Welcome Home” in 2006 and continues to perform with the group around the world.
