The producer of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show generated a record number of views for the performance.

Roc Nation says the show attracted 4.157 billion views across US and global broadcast television, YouTube and other digital platforms in the 24 hours after it aired on February 8. This number provides a more accurate measure of the program’s reach; Two days after the game, measurement firm Ripple Analytics said the halftime show had 4 billion views, with “view” meaning any viewing time ranging from one to 30 seconds, depending on the platform.

Obviously, broadcast television is doing most of the lifting on this total. Per Nielsen, an average of 128.2 million people watched the halftime show in the United States. Using YouTube’s 30-second viewing qualifier, that equates to approximately 3.5 billion views over the course of Bad Bunny’s 13-and-a-half-minute performance.

The YouTube video of the halftime show had 29 million views within about 16 hours of appearing on the platform, and will likely surpass 40 million within 24 hours (three weeks later, the show had reached 118 million views as of press time). Add to that international TV viewing — which typically adds up to an additional 50 million viewers — and other social media platforms where one second of watching a video counts as a view, and the total rises to 4.157 billion at Roc Nation.
