Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman and Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, a day after holding a conversation with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Jordan.

The phone call with Middle Eastern leaders comes even as the conflict between Iran and the United States has spread to the wider region, closing airspace and threatening oil supplies and energy infrastructure.
During the phone conversation with the two leaders, Prime Minister Modi expressed concern over the attacks in the Gulf countries and discussed the security of the Indian community residing there.

Earlier today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its deep concern about the rapid deterioration of the situation in Iran and the Gulf region after the outbreak of the conflict.
The MEA also said that the safety and well-being of about one crore Indian citizens in the Middle East remains a matter of major concern.
Prime Minister Modi on Monday spoke to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and expressed his support for restoring peace and stability in the region, adding that India condemns the attacks on both countries.
The Prime Minister said that he and Prince Mohammed bin Salman agreed that “restoring regional peace and stability as soon as possible is of the utmost importance.” He also thanked the Saudi Crown Prince for his concern for the well-being of the Indian community in “these difficult times.”
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday interacted with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar and UAE Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, while also speaking to Iran’s Seyed Abbas Araqchi and Israel’s Gideon Sa’ar.
While more than 700 people have been killed in Iran, the conflict continues with strikes in the Gulf states, along with Israel.
