Mona Singh plays the role of Babli Didi, the leader of the sand mafia in Subedaar, and is challenging her skills as the film releases on March 5.
Mona Singh steps into a role she says she has never played before. In Suresh Triveni’s Subedaar, she plays Babli Didi, a sand mafia boss who keeps Anil Kapoor’s character under constant pressure.
Singh says this role pushed her out of her comfort zone, from appearance and demeanor to accent and attitude. She also says that the character drives the story and doesn’t leave much room for anyone to relax.

According to OTTplay, Singh recalled her reaction when Triveni called her and told her about the offer. My first thought was “Arey baap re! Yeh kya de diya mujhe?” (Oh my God! What have you given me?) She says she wanted a character with flaws and a real challenge, and Bubbly Diddy delivers on that.
Singh describes the role as “full of surprises” and “a little bit eccentric,” while also demanding in ways she didn’t expect.
