In the wake of Shia Muslim protests across India over the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, All India Shia Personal Law Board Secretary General Maulana Yaqoob Abbas announced on Monday that businesses will remain closed and black flags will be raised to mourn his death.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in US-Israeli raids on February 28, along with his daughter, grandson, daughter-in-law and son-in-law.
Speaking to ANI, Abbas said: “All businesses will remain closed for three days. Black flags will be hoisted at people’s homes. Gatherings will be held to mourn his death.”

The previous day, in the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, members of the Shiite community gathered at Chota Imambara to honor Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
During the meeting, Shiite cleric Mawlana Syed Kalb Jawad declared that the Iranian people will never kneel, and that Israel and America will be defeated.
In Aligarh, students of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) held a protest in the form of a candle march to condemn the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader. During the demonstration, the demonstrators collectively performed the funeral prayer for Khamenei.
Maulana Bahloul Raza stated that the protest is a message to the world that they will continue to raise their voices for the oppressed.
Reza told reporters, “This is a message to everyone that wherever the oppressed are killed, we will raise our voice for them. Khamenei was killed, but after him thousands of Khameneis were born today.”
Besides Aligarh, members of the all-India Shia community in Ayodhya held a candlelight march to express deep grief and grief over the death of the Iranian leader. Participants in the rally demanded justice and expressed their steadfast support for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, expressing their hope for quick revenge against the perpetrators of the attack.

Members of the Shia community also held a protest in Jammu after the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader and expressed their grief and anger over the killing of the Supreme Leader.
Meanwhile, Iran declared 40 days of public mourning following the death of the Supreme Leader.
Ayatollah Khamenei succeeded the revolution’s founder, Ruhollah Khomeini, in 1989, and his term was marked by continued opposition to Western influence.
