Operation Epic Fury is a large-scale military attack led by the United States under President Donald Trump, carried out early Sunday in Tehran. Its primary goal was a “decapitation strike” that eliminated Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and key members of the country’s political leadership.

Israeli forces led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also participated in the operation, dubbed Operation Lion’s Roar. The strikes, carried out in broad daylight, targeted political and administrative areas in Tehran, including the offices of the Supreme Leader, the Presidential Complex, and the Assembly of Experts. The attack also killed Khamenei’s daughter and grandson, along with senior military officials, and caused significant civilian casualties, including at a girls’ school in southern Iran, according to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
