Army forces opened fire to shoot down a Pakistani drone after it entered the Indian side across the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district early on Sunday, officials said.
The officials said the drone returned to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir after flying briefly in the Digwar district.
This was the second time in three days that forces opened fire after capturing drone movement across the border.
Troops guarding an outpost noticed the enemy drone at around 6.10 a.m. and fired more than a dozen rounds to shoot it down, the officials said.
However, the drone survived the gunshots and returned immediately.
Officials said a search operation was launched to ensure that the drone did not drop weapons or drugs.
On February 27, forces also fired on a Pakistani drone in the same area.
