The Rohit Shetty house shooting case has taken a shocking turn, with the Mumbai Police revealing his links with an international network. It is assumed that the attackers deposited money into their bank accounts and secretly withdrew cash from ATMs.
An unknown figure handled the deposits, hinting at a larger operation that was behind the hit.
To uncover the path of the money, the authorities tasked the banks to hand over the full data and transaction details of the participants.
Nepal and Agra unit links are shown
According to News18 reports, the investigation also uncovered leads about funding channels linked to Nepal. Officials are investigating a possible link to the so-called “Agra unit.”
Mumbai Police formed several special teams to intensify the investigation and identify the mastermind of the attack.
Details of the attack
For those who don’t know, five bullets were fired at director Rohit Shetty’s Juhu house on January 31. Mumbai Crime Branch investigation confirmed that the car used in the attack came from Pune.
Car route from Pune
The car used in the shooting came from a man in Pune. He had sold it to Aditya Gayki, one of the arrested men, for Rs 30 lakh a few days ago. Aditya Gaikee and another arrested man, Samarth Bomage, left the car at a fixed location in Mumbai’s Juhu area. The crime branch says the people who bought the car and drove it to Mumbai did not know the shooter. Later, Shubham Lonkar asked the shooter to pick up the car and open fire.
Five arrests so far
So far, five suspects have been arrested by the STF unit of Hadurgarh in collaboration with Mumbai Police. Further investigations are underway.
