Barefoot Samuel L. Jackson searches for…shoes.
But not just any couple, of course, as the acting icon looks to Adidas Originals Superstars in a new campaign released Thursday that stars Jackson in a somewhat cinematic saga that finds him teaming up with the likes of pop star Jennie, supermodel Kendall Jenner, Spanish soccer star Lamine Yamal, rapper and record producer Bebe Kim, NBA star James Harden, skateboarder Tyshaun Jones, and Grammys Best New Artist Olivia Deen.
The plot finds Jackson moving through a stunning hotel – dubbed the Superstar Hotel – only to encounter the aforementioned boldfaced names who all happen to be dressed as Superstar. The clip is directed by Thibaut Grevet, who recently directed music videos for Tate McRae and A$AP Rocky.
“The campaign celebrates the star’s next era through timeless design and cultural significance,” offered Adidas Originals Vice President of Marketing Annie Barrett. “Superstars never go away, they are timeless and iconic. This season, we continue to show the importance of this sneaker across music, fashion, sports and art. The new campaign pushes the boundaries of reality with unexpected twists.”
This new campaign features the classic black and white sneakers and coordinating tracksuits, with some new styles such as, in the men’s collection, the looser fit and the red, black and white colorway featuring the 3-Stripes. Jones even wore some denim shorts, which is a fresh touch, while other items include neutral-colored jacquard tees and shirts. On the women’s side, there’s a Superstar jersey and a red equipment-blocking jacket.
The new campaign, seen above in the YouTube clip and in the images below with models, will launch this spring and will be supported by global content, brand activations and immersive personal experiences.
