Bhubaneswar, Union Minister Annapurna Devi has advised the Odisha government to organize ‘Tithi Bhojan’ and monitor ‘Poshan Diwas’ at Anganwadi centers to promote nutrition initiatives.

The Union Minister said this to officials of the Odisha Women and Child Development Department during a meeting organized on Wednesday to review the progress of various schemes and programmes. Deputy Prime Minister Pravati Parida chaired the session.
The Union Minister for Women and Child Development said that coordinated efforts between citizens and the government can greatly help in eliminating malnutrition in the state.
She appreciated the pioneering Subhadra Yojana of the state government. “When government aid is transferred directly to women’s bank accounts, it ensures their financial independence and empowerment,” the federal minister said.
She expressed satisfaction at the positive impact of various government schemes in Odisha and assured full support through coordination between the Center and the State for successful implementation of social welfare programmes.
In her speech, Parida stated that the comprehensive empowerment of women and providing a safe future for children are the most important priorities of the state government.
DyCM said that the fourth installment of the Subhadra Scheme will be deposited in the accounts of beneficiaries on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8 and that the administration is working to ensure timely and transparent disbursement.
Parida further noted that through coordinated implementation of the schemes of the Central and State governments, Odisha is steadily moving forward in improving the quality of life of women and children.
The meeting also conducted a detailed review of programs aimed at the comprehensive development of women and children in three basic areas, such as nutrition, protection and education.
Officials gave updates on schemes like Mission Vatsalya, Ashirbad, Jashoda, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, etc.
Special emphasis has been placed on addressing challenges such as implementation of schemes in remote and tribal areas, malnutrition and child marriage through targeted interventions in the campaign mode, officials said.
