Snapchat is entering the rewards game.

The social media platform is hosting its first-ever Snappys Awards show, honoring outstanding creators in the fields of entertainment, comedy, music, sports and beauty. Snappys will be held on March 31 at Snap’s headquarters in Santa Monica, where a variety of influencers, industry leaders and special guests will be welcomed. Comedian and creator Matt Friend will host, and DJ Khaled will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition of his impact and influence as a creator, artist and entrepreneur.

“Snapchat has always been a place where I can be completely myself — a place where some of the most creative and authentic voices are building real communities every day,” Friend said in a statement. “I grew up on this platform, so hosting the Snappys Awards Show and celebrating the creators who shape comedy, music, sports, and everything in between feels like coming full circle. It’s going to be a night that’s just like Snapchat: unexpected, unfiltered, and all about Snap Stars.”

Categories at the show will include honoring Creators, Storyteller, Collaboration, Comedy and Cultural Impact, says Jim Shepherd, Head of Content Partnerships at Snapchat, “The Snappys Awards show is a reflection of how strong the creator community has become on Snapchat. The Snap Stars we honor don’t just entertain audiences — they drive conversations, build businesses, and shape culture. This show represents our long-term commitment to giving creators meaningful recognition and real opportunity as they continue to define their identity.” What’s next?”

Snapchat is the latest social giant to launch its own awards show; TikTok held its inaugural US show in December, handing out 14 awards to top creators in a live show at the Hollywood Palladium. In the fall, Instagram announced its Rings awards program, which will honor 25 of the best creators with physical and digital rings, selected by a judging panel that includes Spike Lee, Marc Jacobs, and Instagram president Adam Mosseri.

Snapchat also saw some big growth in the fourth quarter, particularly from its Snap Star program, which allows influencers to make money from their content on the platform. This led to a more than 40 percent year-over-year increase in the number of creators posting content on Snapchat in the last quarter of 2025.
