Nancy was reported missing on February 1, 2026, and authorities repeatedly told the public they had not identified a suspect. However, they finally discovered a key detail after 10 days of investigation: surveillance footage of a masked person approaching Nancy’s door in Tucson, Arizona.

According to the clip released by the FBI on February 10, a person wearing a full face mask and black gloves approached Nancy’s home and tampered with her security cameras. Director of the FBI Cash Battle The FBI released a statement regarding the footage, saying: “Over the past eight days, the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department have worked closely with our private sector partners to continue recovering any photos or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, damaged, or otherwise inaccessible due to a variety of factors – including the removal of recording devices. The video was recovered from residual data located in back-end systems.”

“Working with our partners – as of this morning – law enforcement has uncovered these new, previously inaccessible images showing an armed individual who appears to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door on the morning of her disappearance,” Patel added.

Has a suspect been named in the Nancy Guthrie case?

No, as of press time, authorities have not identified the suspect. A man identified only as Carlos was detained during a traffic stop in Arizona for questioning on February 10, but was immediately released. He spoke to reporters later, insisting he was not a suspect and did not even know about the Guthrie family.

By the 12th, officials asked neighbors in the Tucson area to share any surveillance footage from their homes to Gateway in order to track the suspect.

Later that week, authorities briefly arrested three people at a home two miles from Nancy’s home. They were released shortly afterwards. Additionally, a man was arrested during a traffic stop near a restaurant, though he was also released. Sheriff Nanos told reporters that he was their “person of interest.”

By the fourth week of the investigation, the name of the suspect had not yet been revealed.

Why did people assume that Annie Guthrie’s husband, Tommaso Cioni, was a suspect?

Unfounded rumors have emerged about Savannah’s brother-in-law, Annie Guthriehusband, Tommaso CioneDuring the first week of the investigation. CNN reported that police were seen at Annie’s house amid the search for Nancy, but authorities did not reveal why they were there.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office shut down all speculation about possible suspects in a public statement shared on February 4.

“At this point, investigators have not identified the suspect or person of interest in this case,” the statement said. “Investigators continue to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Ms. Guthrie. Investigators are working closely with the Guthrie family. While we appreciate the public’s concern, sharing unverified accusations or false information is irresponsible and does not assist the investigation.”
