Android vulnerabilities exist due to flaws in the Framework, System, AMLogic, Arm components, MediaTek components, Qualcomm components, and closed source Qualcomm components.
Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to obtain sensitive information, gain privileges, and also run arbitrary code or even cause a denial of service on the targeted system.
Affected Android versions
The vulnerabilities were found in multiple versions of the Android operating system including Android 11, Android 12, Android 12L, Android 13, and Android 14. This also affects Android smartphones and tablets.
What is the solution?
The government body advised users to apply the latest available security patch for their devices.
To check for the update, follow these steps:
- Open Settings on your smartphone or tablet
- Click on Software Updates
- Then press the Check for Updates button.
- Click “Install”, if an update is available.
- Wait for it to download and install.
- Once done, restart your phone.
