Thousands are now mourning Maria Rita
On Saturday, February 21, Brazilian beauty influencer Maria Rita Rodriguez da Silva passed away.
Her parents first broke the news, sharing a message to her Instagram followers.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved daughter, Maria Rita,” they wrote.
In a separate post, her grieving parents shared: “Unfortunately, Maria suddenly fell ill and left us.”
Maria Rita had more than 65,000 followers on TikTok, and more than 11,000 on Instagram.
What is the cause of her death?
Unfortunately, we don’t yet know how Maria Rita died.
A sudden medical emergency seems almost a given, but it seems to rule out certain causes, such as murder or a car crash.
At 25 years old, a seemingly spontaneous medical emergency may be unusual, but it’s clearly not unheard of.

In fact, she’s also been listing and detailing the components of her ensembles so followers can try on her looks for herself.
Maria Rita shared updates about her character. She also worked as a travel vlogger, documenting her trips to Peru and Uruguay.
Maria Rita’s funeral was held on Sunday, February 22, one day before her burial in her hometown.
Ligia, a friend of hers, wrote a tribute: “She was always a kind person while she was with me in the fine arts sewing and pattern making studio. I am so sorry.”
Another named Jessica wrote: “She was a bright soul, always smiling, and had unparalleled charisma. Wherever she went, she won everyone over with her warmth and charm.”
Luana Lillian shared a tribute to Maria on Instagram, also praising her for her charm and calling her “the most beautiful red-haired girl.”
This was a young woman full of life and loved by many before her untimely death.
We will miss her
Maria’s last post came just two days before her death.
On Thursday, February 19, she showed off a new pair of sunglasses.
Without knowing what happened the next two days, we are at a loss to explain her death.
We hope her parents and other loved ones receive answers that can give them a sense of closure.
Right now, the grief is raw. This will never go away, but it will likely sink in reality.
