Joe Manganiello has reignited the hype for a Batman movie in Zack Snyder’s Snyderverse. Days after Zack shared a post featuring a BTS shot of Ben Affleck’s Batman, Joe shared a post-credit scene featuring his character, Deathstroke, in Snyder’s Justice League.
“You better not waste my time…” he captioned the post, which sparked new speculation among fans about the fate of the long-discussed “Batfleck” project and whether the Snyderverse might just be making a comeback.
Joe Manganiello is excited for the return of the “Batfleck” movie
Affleck’s solo Batman film, often referred to as “Batfleck”, was intended to be part of the Snyderverse. However, the film was eventually shelved after the actor stepped down from directing and starring in the film, due to a “really traumatic” experience during the turbulent production of “Justice League.” Affleck’s departure from the role led to Matt Reeves creating The Batman with Robert Pattinson. This film series, which is scheduled to have a sequel, exists outside the DC universe. Manganiello shared a video of himself dressed as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke, along with director Snyder’s name, reigniting discussion about the unfinished story the director set out to tell in his planned film series. The character of Deathstroke was originally teased to appear in the original Snyder Cut and was intended to lead into a solo Batman film.

Fans online quickly made connections between Manganiello’s post and Synder’s post from last week that read, “Standing in the freezing rain in Detroit with Ben Affleck as we brought Gotham City to life in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”
Upcoming Batman movies
Meanwhile, James Gunn is said to be preparing to introduce a new Batman to the DC Universe with “Superman: Man of Tomorrow” set for release in 2027. Pattinson’s film The Batman II is also scheduled for release in October 2027.
