A crash involving a luxury Ferrari in Hyderabad may have been caused by brake failure in the multi-crore car, police said on Sunday. A Ferrari collided with oncoming vehicles in the Jubilee Hills area of the city over the weekend, injuring three people and damaging three vehicles, including two cars and one two-wheeler.

It is suspected that the driver of the luxury car lost control, most likely due to a brake failure in the car. “It appears to be a brake failure. The vehicle inspector will examine the vehicle to ascertain the exact cause,” news agency PTI quoted a police official as saying.
According to Hyderabad Police, the incident took place near Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna’s house in Jubilee Hills. The accident led to traffic diversions in the area on Sunday, and the traffic police advised motorists to choose alternative routes.
While several vehicles were said to have been damaged in the accident, photos shared by police showed that the Ferrari collided head-on with another car.
Who was driving the Ferrari?
The luxury Ferrari is said to be registered under the name E Venkata Raja Reddy. However, it is not yet clear who was behind the wheels during the accident.
As reported earlier by HT, the driver of the car was reportedly on his way to attend a wedding and tested negative for alcohol after the accident. He also told police during the investigation that he was working in real estate.
Ferrari, the luxury sports car, costs approx $3.5 Crores.
