Investigations are underway to determine whether the currency is fake or not, news agency ANI quoted Jammu and Kashmir Police as saying.

This comes a day after a balloon bearing the name Pakistan International Airlines (PIL) was found inside the Air Force Technical Area in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Gaurav Singh said that a case was registered on February 12 at Shahganj police station following a complaint from the Indian Air Force.

“An airplane-shaped balloon, colored green and white, was found in the technical area of the Air Force building,” he said, adding that a string was also tied to the balloon, according to news agency PTI.

No suspicious device or material was found in the balloon.

In January, drone intrusions were reported from the country neighboring India.

Drones – suspected to be from Pakistan – were spotted along the India-Pakistan border in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir on January 11 and 12.

The Chief of Army Staff, in a warning of sorts at the Indian Army’s annual press conference, had said that Pakistan’s chief of military operations had been asked to control what he said were drone intrusions from Pakistan into India.

The Army Chief on January 13 said that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir remains sensitive but completely under control.

Meanwhile, officials said Pakistan violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district last Friday.

“The ceasefire violation occurred at noon at the TMG (Tut Mar Gali) position in the Nogam sector of Kupwara (in north Kashmir) when PKK positions opened fire with small arms at Indian positions,” the agency quoted officials as saying.

They added that the shooting stopped after a while, without any loss of life or injury.
