A chartered medical plane bound for Delhi from Ranchi crashed in Kasaria area of ​​Chhatra district in Jharkhand on Monday. Officials said the plane was carrying seven people, including the patient.

The plane, a Beechcraft King Air BE9L operated by Delhi-based Redbird Airways Pvt Ltd, left the state capital Ranchi at 7:11 p.m., according to the DGCA.

In addition to the patient, there was a doctor, a paramedic, two companions, a pilot in command and a co-pilot on board the plane. The expected time of landing in Delhi was 10 pm.

I lost contact with air traffic control at 7:34 p.m. The Chatra area where the plane crashed is located about 130 kilometers from the state capital, Ranchi.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation said: “The search and rescue team of the district administration is at the site and an AAIB (Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau) team is being dispatched.”

The police have reached the spot, after which details of the casualties and damages will be known, the Superintendent of Police, Chatra, told HT.

Who was on board?

The pilots have been identified as Vivek Vikas Bhagat and Savrajdeep Singh.

The patient being transported has been identified as Sanjay Kumar, 41.

Paramedic Sachin Kumar Mishra, doctor Vikash Kumar Gupta, attendants Archana Devi and Duru Kumar were the others who were on board the plane.
