Muhammad Amir kisses Abhishek Sharma in a new way
New Delhi: India suffered a major setback in the T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8 stage after their heavy loss to South Africa. Although India got through the group stage without a loss, the heavy 76-run defeat made their path to the semi-finals more difficult.
One of the major concerns for the team is the poor form of opener Abhishek Sharma, who scored just 15 runs in the match after being bowled out for three successive ducks earlier in the tournament.

Abhishek’s repeated failures at the summit have put additional pressure on India’s middle order. Players like Ishan Kishan, Shivam Dubey and Suryakumar Yadav have dealt with this pressure in previous matches, but they struggled against South Africa’s powerful bowling attack.Former Pakistani fast bowler

Now Abhishek has given some advice. Amir, who had earlier described him as a ‘batsman’, said Abhishek needs to play smarter and not attack blindly. “You must have seen that he scored 14 runs on the same over. All the three boundaries he hit were off bad balls. He has potential. He kept the same intent even after three ducks. But, as a senior player, my message to him is that international cricket will reveal your style. If he has some patience and hits the ball on the spot, he will be better. He has the skills, how he wants to utilize them is up to him,” Amir said on Harna Mana Hai.
Amir also said that India is not as strong while chasing goals anymore. “India have been exposed while chasing a maiden T20 World Cup. This is not a team that includes Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. They handled the match as the situation required,” he said.He also criticized India’s team selection and strategy. “The biggest mistake India made was fielding three left-handers at the top. Rinku doesn’t even get game time. I have put Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel on the bench against batsmen who are struggling against spinners. No matter how big your team is, you won’t get results until you play the right combinations,” he asserted.
