Speaking along these lines again on his monthly radio show Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, the Prime Minister cited examples of his earlier point, highlighting two products through which AI is helping people.

He also said that the AI Impact Summit “proved to be a turning point” in tracing the trajectory of how the world will use the power of AI in the future, PTI reported.

Prime Minister Modi said that among the things presented to the world leaders at the summit, there were two things that impressed him the most. The Prime Minister said that the first product was at Amul’s pavilion where it was explained how AI helps people treat animals and how farmers can track their livestock with the help of 24×7 AI assistance.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the second product related to culture demonstrated how artificial intelligence helps preserve ancient texts, knowledge and manuscripts, and helps them adapt to today’s generation. “At the AI Impact Summit in India, world leaders were impressed by these achievements in the field of AI,” the Prime Minister said.

“Some people see fear in AI, India sees opportunity”

Addressing delegates at the AI Summit on Thursday, Prime Minister Modi said that while many countries view AI with fear and apprehension, India views it as an opportunity for growth.

“Some people see fear in AI, but India sees wealth and future in it,” Prime Minister Modi said. He also added that AI must be democratized so that humans avoid becoming a data point for AI or remaining raw material for AI. “We must democratize AI. It must become a vehicle for inclusion and empowerment, especially for the Global South,” the Prime Minister said.

In an interview with ANI, Prime Minister Modi said that AI today stands at a “civilizational inflection point”, adding that this is why India deliberately framed the summit around “impact”.

Prime Minister Modi stressed that AI represents a “transformational opportunity” towards Vixit Bharat. “Leveraging AI carefully, and from a strategic perspective, helps address profound developmental challenges while creating entirely new economic opportunities, enabling inclusive growth, bridging the urban-rural divide and expanding access to opportunities,” Prime Minister Modi told ANI. However, the Prime Minister also stressed that concerns about bias and limitations of AI remain “deeply relevant”.
