“And critically, India brings strength. Peace does not come from expecting adversaries to play fair. We all know they don’t. Peace comes from strength. India understands this. India understands strong borders,” he said.

The Pax Silica agreement was officially signed at a ceremony at the AI ​​Impact Summit. It was attended by Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Secretary S Krishnan, Helberg, Gore and US Office of Science and Technology Policy Director Michael Kratsios.

On how responsibilities would be shared under Pax Silica and whether it could provide an alternative front to secure critical minerals, Helberg said the initiative would not only be limited to government-to-government cooperation but also enable private sector partnerships.

“So in terms of shared responsibility, what makes Pax Silica effective is that it’s not just a G2G platform, but also a platform that allows businesses to actually form partnerships, private sector to private sector. Part of the spirit of the Trump administration is that we trust industry and we trust markets,” he said.

Asked about India importing oil from Venezuela, Gore said the talks were still ongoing and details were yet to be made public. He said that there are active discussions on this issue and discussions are being held with the US Department of Energy and the Ministry of Energy of India.
