Nancy Guthrie has yet to be found after her family reported the 84-year-old missing on February 1. Authorities believe she was taken from her home near Tucson, Arizona, the night before. Now, in recent developments, barricades have reportedly been placed along the road where her home is located in the Catalina foothills.

One independent investigative reporter covering the Guthrie case on the ground wrote on X, “A company called Quail Construction set up orange traffic barriers along Nancy Guthrie Boulevard.”

The report of the barriers being set up sparked a buzz about a possible visit from family members. “I wonder if this barrier was set up in anticipation of the Guthrie family visiting their mother’s house soon,” one person asked on X, in a post that has been viewed more than 19,000 times.

Many seemed to agree, saying the original poster made an “excellent point.” Another added: “It’s possible, but I have to believe it’s a problem with the big garbage trucks, as well as the fire trucks trying to pass!!.”

It is worth noting that the Guthrie family has been in the public eye since the octogenarian’s disappearance. Guthrie has three children — TODAY show host Savannah and siblings Annie and Camron. They were seen in several videos pleading for the return of their mother.

The Guthrie family in focus

Savannah’s net worth and earnings have also come into focus after alleged ransom notes were sent in the case. Meanwhile, Cameron – a former member of the Air Force – has also faced short-lived media attention, even as information about his brother remains scarce. However, the utmost scrutiny has been directed towards Ani and her husband, Tommaso Cione.

This is because Guthrie had dinner with Annie on the night she was believed to have been taken from her home. After dinner, her brother-in-law Sione reportedly drove her home, making him the last person to see her before picking her up. Initially, Ashley Banfield, a former News Nation journalist, claimed that Sione was a suspect in the case.

However, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos clarified that none of Guthrie’s family members are suspects in the investigation.

Do the Guthrie family go to Nancy Guthrie’s house?

Despite online claims, there is no indication that members of the Guthrie family are going to the 84-year-old’s home. As many pointed out, the barriers could have been placed to facilitate traffic, given the huge media presence there and the increased interest in the case. Agence France-Presse also indicated that the road had been converted into a one-way lane to facilitate traffic.

While authorities do not have any suspect in the matter yet, the FBI released the description based on doorbell video footage that showed a man wearing a ski mask. According to the office, the suspect is a man approximately 5 feet 9 to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build.
