Defamation case: Rahul Gandhi records court statement

Sultanpur: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi appeared before an MP-MLA court in UP’s Sultanpur on Friday and recorded his statement in a 2018 defamation case related to his statements against Union Home Minister Amit Shah.Rahul told special judge Shubham Verma that the charges against him were due to political vendetta and with the aim of destroying his image and that of his party, his lawyer Kashi Prasad Shukla said.The court asked Raholto to present his defense evidence at the next hearing scheduled for March 9.Sultanpur:“The allegations are baseless and baseless. I have never used derogatory words against anyone… A false complaint has been lodged by distorting my statement,” Shukla quoted Rahul as saying.
