JAMMU: A joint team of Army and Rajouri Police found a cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation in Nathwa Tipa area of Sunderbani sector along the Line of Control in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.The searches, as part of Operation Jwala, came a day after security forces thwarted an infiltration attempt in the area. The recovery included an AK-47 rifle, two magazines, as well as ammunition, three backpacks, blankets, rations and clothing, the Army’s White Knight Corps posted on X.The post stated that traces of blood were observed, indicating that the terrorists were seriously injured. He added, “Operations are still continuing with extreme vigilance and firm control over the area.”Commander of the White Knights, Lt. Gen. PK Mishra, on Friday visited the forward areas of Balnoy sector in the Poonch border district to review the prevailing security situation and assess the operational preparedness of Army units deployed along the border.Later in the day, Lt. Gen. Mishra, accompanied by the COIN Force of the Government Forces Commander, visited the forward areas of the Sunderbani sector to review the security situation after the infiltration attempt was foiled.
