CBSE Board Exam 2026 Live: Class 12 paper is quite long
CBSE Board Exam 2026 Live: Review of Anoop Karda, Physics Teacher, Witty International School Udaipur for Class 12 Physics Paper:
“The Physics 2026 General Paper was moderate to difficult and fairly long. Section E was easy, and included straightforward questions, while Section D was of moderate difficulty. Sections B and C were somewhat difficult and required stronger conceptual clarity from the students.
Due to the length of the paper, students had less time to devote to Section A, which is what many eventually tried to do. However, the language of the paper was clear, direct and not complex. The numerical problems were straightforward and accessible, making them easier to solve. Each section contains a good weighting of derivatives, which adds to the length but also effectively tests students’ understanding.

The Central Board of Secondary Education conducted the Physics examination for Class XII, and the paper presented was of moderate to little difficulty level. It was a balanced mix of conceptual recall and numerical application, with a strong emphasis on understanding basic principles. The paper was well aligned with the NCERT syllabus, ensuring that students with a solid understanding of the textbook could navigate it successfully. The distribution of questions was equal across major topics in physics, including electrodynamics, optics, and modern physics.
Section A (Multiple Choice Questions): The first 18 questions were straightforward and primarily concept-based, testing direct recall and simple applications of formulas. Questions on topics such as speed of an electromagnetic wave (Q1), diode resistance (Q3), magnetic flux (Q4), and de Broglie wavelength (Q10) were straightforward and could be solved quickly by well-prepared students. However, some questions, such as the question about the work done for dipole rotation (Q5), require multiple steps and clear conceptual understanding, which may be challenging for some.
Section B (short answer questions – 2 marks): The questions in this section were of moderate difficulty and required concise and to-the-point answers. Numerical problems, such as calculating threshold frequency from photoelectric effect data (Q19) and circuit analysis (Q20), were standard and straight from the NCERT framework. The question about the effect of phase difference in Young’s double-slit experiment (Q21) tests conceptual understanding in a simple “what if” scenario.
Section C (short answer questions – 3 marks): This section was the core of the concept paper. It required students not only to state facts but also to explain phenomena and make systematic derivations. The question about prism (Q23) and the drift-velocity relationship (Q25) was textbook based and accessible. Questions on torque in a coil (Q26) and the comparison between deuteron and alpha particles (Q28) were good differentiators, testing the ability to apply concepts in comparison scenarios. The question about the EM wave (Q22) was a direct test of the fundamental derivation and wave properties.
Section D (Case Study Questions): The two case study questions (Q29 on capacitors and Q30 on moving charges) were innovative and well structured. They have successfully tested the application of concepts in a related context. While the initial parts were simple data-based questions, later parts (such as parts or in questions 29 and 30) require a deeper, integrated understanding of the topic and can be time-consuming. This section effectively assessed proficiency on rote learning.
Section E (long answer questions): The paper provided good choice with internal choices in the 5 mark questions. These questions were comprehensive and demanding. They needed structured, step-by-step solutions. For example, Question 31 on optics asked for a theoretical derivation and numerical application. Question 32 on static electricity was conceptually rich, requiring interpretation of graphs and calculation of potential energy in an external field. Q33 in Modern Physics and AC Circuits combines conceptual justifications with heavy numerical calculations, testing higher order thinking and time management skills. The required derivations (e.g., lens assembly, refraction on a spherical surface) were basic and expected topics.
Overall, the paper was well balanced and adhered to the competency-based assessment model. It rewarded students who had a strong conceptual foundation and practiced numerical problems extensively. Although the paper was fair, it succeeded in distinguishing between students who relied on memorization and those who had a real understanding of the principles of physics. Time management was crucial, especially for detailed, long-answer questions and case study-based problems.

CBSE Board Exam 2026 Live: Class 12 paper easy compared to last year, says Principal of Mordern Public School
CBSE Board Exam 2026 Live: Principal Dr. Alka Kapoor, Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh shares Class 12 Physics Paper Revision:
The Year 12 Physics examination paper was generally balanced in terms of content coverage and conceptual assessment. The MCQ section required more mathematical-based thinking than expected. Although the questions were easy to administer, they required careful numerical evaluation and conceptual clarity. The paper was relatively more theoretical in nature rather than focusing extensively on practical applications. A fair number of derivations from the prescribed syllabus are included.
Although the numbers were not very difficult, they were time-consuming and required precise calculations, which presented a time management challenge. The optics case study question was relatively difficult. Overall, the paper was fairly easy compared to last year’s exam. However, due to the length of the questions and their computationally intensive nature, they were time consuming. Ordinary students may have found it a bit difficult to complete the task within the allotted time. In conclusion, the paper mainly assessed derivation skills, numerical ability and higher order thinking, making it a comprehensive assessment of students’ understanding of physics.

CBSE Board Exam 2026 Live: Pawan Chaudhary, HOD Physics, Lancers Army Schools shares Class 12 Physics paper review:
Today’s physics board exam was balanced in structure and fair in scope. Much of the paper focused on direct theory and standard derivations. He allowed Students who have prepared sincerely and worked consistently through the syllabus have secured consistent marks. However, there are some questions that need to be read carefully. Performance may be affected by simple errors, such as not meeting requirements or a signal error, especially for those who strive for very high scores. The general level can be described as above average. He tested not only conceptual understanding but also composure under pressure. Students should not be discouraged by simple mistakes. Parents can be confident that the paper has not wandered outside the curriculum. Once again, continuous preparation is the strongest foundation.

CBSE Board Exam 2026 Live: Class 12 Paper is Medium to Difficult
CBSE Board Exam 2026 Live: Thilak M. – PGT Physics, JAIN International Residential School (JIRS), Bengaluru Class 12 Exam Review:
Easy to moderate, scored with conceptual checks.
The CBSE Class 12 Physics exam conducted today was easy to moderate in difficulty and well within the prescribed syllabus. In my view, the paper was balanced and gave students ample opportunity to score, while also testing conceptual understanding in selected areas.
Section wise analysis
Section E (5 marks – long answer):
This was clearly a scoring department. Important and expected derivations from Electrostatics, Ray Optics, EMI & AC were requested, which came as a huge relief to the students. Those who have practiced standard derivations from previous years would have found this section comfortable and highly scored.
Section D (case-based questions):
Case study questions from the galvanometer and the photoelectric effect test conceptual understanding rather than memorization. Well-prepared students would have found these manageable. The questions required interpretation and application of theory, but were not unexpected.
Section C (3 marks):
This section contains a mixture of theory and numbers.
Questions like:
• Apply Gauss’s law to a plane plate
• Wheatstone network
• Inserting a dielectric into a capacitor
• Formation of a pn junction diode
• X-ray diagram of optical devices
It was easy and predictable. Students who have practiced the previous year’s questions can answer them with confidence.
However, the figures from electrostatic potential, semiconductor diode circuit, and total internal reflection (TIR) were multi-step and required good analytical and problem-solving skills. These questions effectively tested students’ application ability.
Section B (2 marks):
The questions from Nuclei, Dual Nature, and Wave Optics were easy and predictable. However, the question from the animation involving torque may be a bit difficult for below-average students.
Section A (MCQs and reasons for assertion):
The MCQs were balanced. Some were straightforward and memory-based, while others tested conceptual clarity. Overall, this section was moderate and could be managed by well-prepared students.
Overall, the paper covered the entire syllabus and was fully compliant with CBSE guidelines. It can be rated from easy to medium in difficulty. The paper provided recording opportunities for lay students, while some analytical questions tested deeper understanding. Students with consistent preparation and previous year’s practice will find the paper comfortable.
