A leaked censorship affidavit has quashed rumors that Lokesh Kanagaraj will soon announce that he will helm Kaithi 2 along with Karthi.

The leaked censorship certificate was all it took to revive hope among the people Lokesh Kanagaraj fans that he is already giving them Kaithi 2 with Karthi after all. Even though the director recently announced a film with Allu Arjun, fans are still optimistic about the revival of LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) after it seemed to go off the rails.

Dilli teaser censored by CBFC
Dream Warrior Pictures, which produced the 2019 hit Kaithi, has submitted a 30-second teaser video titled Dilli to the Central Board of Film Certification. It was certified on February 19, and the CBFC was awarded U certification. The information was spotted on the CBFC website. While the name Kaithi is nowhere to be seen in the certificate, and Karthi’s character name in the film is Dilli. This was enough of a hint to get fans excited that they might get the movie they’ve been waiting for.
The Internet is reacting to the leaked certificate
Once the testimony leaked online, fans seemed to grow more active on social media. “Dilli – A 30-second teaser video was recently banned. KAITHI-2 is expected to be updated very soon. LCU is back,” wrote an excited fan who posted the photo. Another wrote: “What’s cooking, Biryani? Producers of Karthi and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film #Kaithi’s teaser titled #Dilli has been banned today.”

Some fans even convinced themselves that the teaser will be released on Lokesh’s birthday on March 14, with one writing, “#Dilli censored teaser, are you planning for Loki’s Bday?” One excited fan even wrote: “Wow, is this Kaithi 2??” Another wrote: “When you mention the word ‘daily’ you think, ‘What is cooking?’”
When Karthi avoided a question in Kaithi 2
In January this year, fans who were waiting for an announcement about Kaithi 2 were surprised when Lokesh gave a surprise He announced a film with Allu Arjun instead. When reporters asked Karthi about it while promoting Vaa Vaathiyaar, he replied, “He is [Lokesh] “He’ll take that,” he smiled. The clip went viral on social media, with many pointing out that Lokesh appears to have given up on LCU. Universe, which began with Kaithi, was followed by Kamal Haasan’s 2022 blockbuster Vikram and Vijay’s 2023 blockbuster Leo.
A film written by Lokesh and directed by Bakiyaraj Kannan is all set to release at LCU, with the title Raghava Lawrence. Lokesh had promised films with Suriya’s character Rolex; Karthi Daily; And Vikram Kamal, in addition to the characters of Napoleon and Agent Tina, but they have not been realized yet. In 2024, a short film titled Chapter Zero – The Origin of LCU was also announced, but nothing of that materialized either.
Lokesh’s upcoming film with Arjun will mark his Telugu debut. He also made his acting debut with Arun Matheswaran DC with Wamiqa Gabbi as his co-star. He last directed Rajinikanth starrer Coolie.
