A Kota man was arrested for threatening to shoot Rahul, a 25-member Congress MP, in a video posted online.

KOTA: A man was arrested on Thursday in Rajasthan’s Kota for allegedly threatening to shoot opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and 25 other MPs in a video he posted online, referring to their alleged verbal abuse of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla during the budget session. Raja Singh Amira claims to be the official spokesperson of Karni Sena. But both the Karni Sena and the BJP have distanced themselves, saying they have no formal ties with either organisation. Birla is the BJP MP in Kota. In the 0.55-second video, Amira said he and others would vandalize the deputies’ homes and shoot them “one by one.” He added that the administration would be responsible if such an act occurred. Kota City SP Tejeshwani Goutam said Amira had faced four previous cases. The new case was registered under Sections 351, 352 and 353 of the Immigration Act, relating to criminal intimidation, breach of public peace and harm.
