At least three militants were killed and four others injured when unidentified gunmen ambushed a militant group in northwestern Pakistan on Thursday (Feb 19, 2026), killing two government officials, police said.

They said unidentified assailants challenged the terrorists near Tikawara in DI Khan district.

Police said that three terrorists were killed and four others were injured in the exchange of fire.

Police said the slain militants were involved in an attack on Yarik police station and customs house in the district and killed a police and customs official.

The rest of the terrorists left their weapons and ran away.

Security has been tightened in and around Tikawara and investigations are underway to ascertain the identities of the attackers and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
