Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), a prestigious institution deemed to be a university, has partnered with OpenAI to integrate advanced artificial intelligence (AI) tools across teaching, research and academic administration.

A media statement said that this collaboration aims to enhance learning outcomes, accelerate research productivity, and provide students and faculty with artificial intelligence skills important for a rapidly evolving global workforce. MAHE will implement AI-powered tools and resources across its academic programs to support personalized learning, promote critical thinking, and encourage the ethical use of AI. Faculty will also have access to advanced AI tools for curriculum planning, research and innovation.

“MAHE has always been guided by academic excellence and innovation. Our partnership with OpenAI represents a strategic step towards integrating AI as a transformative enabler across teaching, research, and administration. By responsibly integrating advanced AI tools, we aim to enhance learning outcomes, accelerate research impact, and prepare our students to lead in an AI-driven world,” the statement said, quoting Lt. Gen. MD Venkatesh, Vice President, MAHE.

The collaboration will focus on building AI knowledge across disciplines, ensuring that students from health sciences, technology, science, management, law, humanities, social sciences and allied fields receive practical exposure to AI applications relevant to their fields.

MAHE will also work to promote interdisciplinary research and innovation using artificial intelligence to address complex real-world challenges, the statement said. MAHE will also develop structured guidelines for AI governance to ensure responsible, ethical and transparent AI governance is used across academic functions.

The partnership aligns with MAHE’s long-term digital transformation roadmap and reinforces its commitment to innovation, industry relevance and societal impact. The statement added that through this collaboration, MAHE is strengthening its vision to become a world-class, AI-powered university committed to shaping responsible innovation and future-ready leaders.
