Kohrra 2 makes its big debut

Tudum’s latest weekly update, for the week beginning February 9 and ending February 15, marks the entry of Kohrra Season 2 into the weekly rankings of the top 10 global non-English shows on the platform. It ranks tenth. Kohra Season 2 has garnered 16,00,000 views, with viewers watching the show for a total of 77,00,000 hours since its release. Kohrra’s second season was also in the top 10 in 11 countries

About Kohra season 2

The second season is a crime thriller consisting of six episodes. This season shifts its focus from the events of the previous season to a new dark investigation in Punjab. The film revolves around a murder investigation assigned to newly transferred Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Jarunde (Barun Sobti) and his no-nonsense new boss Inspector Dhanwant Kaur (Monna Singh).

An excerpt from HT’s review of the series reads: “The stars of the show are the actors, not just the leads. Mona Singh and Barun Sobti are sublime. They let their eyes do the talking, captured the mannerisms and gaits of two hardened cops well, and brought these human characters to life in a wonderful way. If Barun shines through his one-liners and quips, Mona is the rock as she lets her body language do the talking. But the supporting cast is also great. It’s worth noting that Prayak Mehta and Pooja Bhamra, as the victim, only get a handful of scenes, but they do enough in those scenes to emerge as a fully formed woman, with her faults as well as her virtues. Prayak, on the other hand, brings out the helplessness and sadness of a young man searching for his estranged father.
