India AI Impact Summit: PM Modi meets Google CEO Sundar Pichai

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Google CEO Sundar Pichai at Hyderabad House in New Delhi ahead of Pichai’s keynote address at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to be held on February 20.The Prime Minister’s Office later shared highlights of the meeting on its official YouTube channel, providing glimpses of the discussion.

Pichai, who arrived in India earlier this week, expressed gratitude for the warm reception.In a post on X, he wrote, “Lovely to be back in India for the AI ​​Impact Summit – very warm welcome as always and the papers look great too.”

The India AI Impact Summit 2026, being held at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from February 16-20, attracted policymakers, industry leaders, academics, innovators and civil society representatives from around the world.

This event serves as a platform for trading on enhancing global cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.

It is worth noting that this is the first major global AI summit to be hosted in the Global South. The conference aligns with India’s vision of “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sakhaya” – well-being and happiness for all – and the broader global principle of “AI for Humanity”.More than 110 countries and 30 international organizations are participating in the summit, including about 20 heads of state or government and about 45 ministers. This broad participation underscores the growing momentum for international cooperation in the responsible development and deployment of artificial intelligence.
