Rapper Badshaw recently played in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in California. He is the first Indian rapper to participate in the event. Several videos and pictures of Badshah playing in court surfaced on social media platforms.
The Internet loved the way Badshah played it more than Ranveer Singh
A fan page shared the rapper’s video on Instagram. Part of the headline read, “The Indian superstar, known globally for his chart-topping music career, brought an undeniable presence to the hardwood, commanding the attention of sports enthusiasts and international audiences alike.” Commenting on the video, a fan said, “Nice boss, Badshah, playing unexpectedly well.”
“He’s good, great pass, good attitude to recover later, sign of a good player,” read one comment. One person wrote, “Smooth pass and cut to the basket. Badshah knows the ball. “Better than Ranveer Singh. He gives player energy,” said one Instagram user. “Badshah is really playing well,” commented another fan. One person called him a “star”, while another hailed it as a “global icon moment”, while one social media user said, “Making India proud”.
Badshah writes a note after the game
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Badshah shared photos and videos from the event. He wrote, “Probably the most MAST (best) time was Boy Logan (Brothers). Always wanted to see an NBA basketball court at least once in my life.”
“When it finally happened, look at the irony, I didn’t even see the court, I walked straight onto it to play! Not as a spectator. Not from the stands. As a player. The power of a kid’s dreams. Met some great people. So much to learn, so much inspiration. Thank you, God,” his note concluded.

Badshah was on the Anthony Anderson team coached by actor Anthony Anderson. He played alongside Simu Liu, Cody Jones, Andre de Grasse, Taylor Frankie Ball, Matt Ishbia, Jason Williams, Nicholas VanSteenberghe, Mustard, Adrian Nunes and Keenan Allen. Trainers are Anthony Anderson, Lethal Shooter and Chris Brickley.

The opposition included Keegan-Michael Key, Shams Sarania, Jeremy Lin, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Chlorilla, Tacko Fall, Rome Flynn, Dylan Wang, Jenna Bondy, Kafu and Rick Schnall. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Alex Antetokounmpo, Thanasis Antetokounmpo and Mookie Betts are the team’s coaches. The match took place at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California on Friday at 7 pm ET (Saturday, February 14, 5.30 am IST).
In October last year, Badshah attended the NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2025 along with Ranveer Singh, Adrian Brady and cricketer Rashid Khan. Ranveer, the brand ambassador of NBA India since 2021, has played in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Games 2022 (S2023) and 2022 (S20 Lanke).
