In 2024, Rahman-led BNP won the majority of votes as Bangladesh went to elections for the first time since the 2024 student revolt toppled the Sheikh Hasina government.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is heading for a decisive victory. With counting almost over, the BNP and its allies have bagged 177 seats so far in the ongoing parliamentary vote count. A total of 237 constituencies have been completed, counting is still going on in the remaining 62 constituencies.
Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami and its allies won 53 constituencies, according to the latest available figures.
