“Obviously, we’re a married couple now, but the perspective has changed,” Evan said. “Skating has always been the main focus, but as we’ve gotten older, I think the relationship has become the main focus. Skating is still the main focus, but skating is a way to strengthen our lives. The partnership has grown.”
Evan said the release “really took a while” when they felt the spark of love between them.
“We’ve already been skating together for five years, we’ve been friends for 10 years already,” he noted. “I think through the highs and lows of skating and the pressure of always trying to be your best, that really brought us together.”
In fact, Madison and Evan begin to feel their “romantic pull” with their performance on the ice when “things don’t go right.” So, they “really leaned on each other during those times,” he added.
