“The inauguration marks a transformational milestone in India’s administrative governance architecture and reflects the Prime Minister’s commitment to building a modern, efficient, accessible and citizen-centric governance ecosystem,” read an official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office.

“For decades, several important government offices and ministries have operated from fragmented and aging infrastructure spread across multiple locations in the Central Vista area. The new building complexes address these issues, further consolidating future facilities—adding modern amenities.

The first announcement came from the Home Minister Amit Shah in December 2025 as part of the government’s 24×7 service push.

In a message to X, Shah said that for the past 11 years, the Modi government has been synonymous with service, not power.

“On this, Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji reiterated commitment to service and named PM’s office ‘Seva Tirth’. At the same time, Raj Bhavan and Raj Nivas are being renamed as Lok Bhavan and Lok Nivas,” Shah added.
