Nancy Guthrie has been missing for over a week now. The 84-year-old was reported missing on February 1 and authorities believe she was taken from her home the night before. Guthrie, the daughter of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, has captured the nation’s attention as investigators race against time to locate her.

An investigator looks inside a culvert in the neighborhood where Annie Guthrie, whose mother Nancy Guthrie has been missing for more than a week, lives just outside of Tucson, Arizona. (AP)Authorities arrested one person in the case yesterday but later released the person. However, FBI Director Kash Patel has indicated that they have a person of interest in the case. Guthrie was taken from his home near Tucson, Arizona, and the FBI is assisting the Pima County Sheriff’s Department in locating him.

Guthrie had dinner with her other daughter, Annie, the night before her disappearance, much attention has also shifted to Savannah’s sister. Annie and her husband Tommaso Cioni are said to live close to Guthrie and were last seen before Cioni took her away after Cioni dropped her off at home.

Annie’s husband, a former News Nation journalist, was also reported as a suspect, but authorities dismissed the claim. According to the official statement, there are no suspects in the case yet. However, the authorities surrounding Annie Guthrie have raised questions.

Why is Annie Guthrie being promoted around?Authorities were canvassing the neighborhood of Annie Guthrie, and a man who lives there told a local reporter that they heard authorities were working on what they believed was someone tossing a camera from a car in the area.

The authorities themselves did not clarify why they were searching the area. The FBI has announced that it will conduct a street search in Catalina Hills in connection with the Guthrie case.

News Nation reporter Brian Antin also noted that authorities went to Annie Guthrie’s home again today and came out with a paper bag while checking the mailbox.

Despite much interest in Annie and Sioni, as they were among the last people to see Guthrie, neither was identified as a suspect. The mailbox check may stem from the claim made in the latest ransom note where the sender said they tried to contact both Annie and brother Cameron, but to no avail.
