Police said that during interrogation, the “father” admitted that he had prepared poisoned laddus and traveled with the victims in their car.During the investigation, the police found that the accused targeted people by promising “Dhanvarsha” (surprise money) through Tantric rituals. He would win their trust, influence them mentally and then give them poisoned laddus. After killing them, he would take their cash and valuables, a police statement said.
On Sunday, the bodies of two men and a woman were found inside a white Tiger around 3:50 pm after motorcyclists alerted the police about a car parking in the flyover’s service lane. A 76-year-old man was found in the driver’s seat, a 47-year-old property businessman in the front passenger seat and a 40-year-old woman in the back seat.
While inspecting the vehicle, the police recovered liquor bottles, cold drink bottles, empty glasses, mobile phones, cash, helmets, jackets, Aadhaar cards, personal belongings and other documents.
Police said that during interrogation, the “father” admitted that he had prepared poisoned laddus and traveled with the victims in their car. During the journey, he forces them to drink wine, cold drinks and poisoned sweets. After losing consciousness, they fled the car with cash.
